On the top ten list of “things I didn’t expect to hear today,” this news probably comes in at about #2.
Spencer Tillman of CBS Sports at halftime of the Alabama-Auburn game on Friday that former Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick could be a leading candidate for the opening that will soon exist at Notre Dame.
Wow. Really? Really??
It’s been about 17 years since Brian Billick was involved in college football.
Billick has no connection with the Fighting Irish that we’re aware of, but he was a college assistant from 1978-1991 for BYU, San Diego State, Utah State and Stanford. He then went on to be offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings.
His name has not been mentioned at all to this point as a replacement for Charlie Weis.
According to Spencer Tillman, he has spoken to a few people close to Notre Dame who stated that Billick’s name has now emerged as “a strong and viable candidate for that opportunity.”
Wow, next thing you know Tiger Woods will be cheating on his wife. Oh wait.
