Michigan State announced on Tuesday that sophomore RB Glenn Winston and Roderick Jenrette have been dismissed from the football team.
The players violated team rules, but no further details were made available.
Winston had been out due to an injury to his knee while Jenrette had already been sidelined for the season with a broken foot.
Although, there’s no official word on the grounds for their dismissal, there is some speculation.
There was an incident that’s been verified by The State News, MSU’s student newspaper, whereby a few students were involved in an incident at Rather Hall in which several students stormed into the dorm and injured seven students this past weekend.
Some of the alleged perpetrators wore ski-masks – while some didn’t and were immediately recognized as members of the school’s football team.
Witnesses say that the perpetrators were seeking one man who had been involved in an altercation earlier at a night club in East Lansing.
It is not yet know if Winston and/or Jenrette were involved in that incident.
