Former Pacers star Ron Artest and his sister are now involved in a welfare fraud scandal.
Police raided the home Latoya Holmes-Ivey and her 3 kids rent in Indianapolis on Wednesday.
Holmes-Ivey had been getting rent assistance because she said that she had no income, but investigators now reveals that she might have been receiving money from Artest.
The tip came in from a former CPA at the company that represents Artest, who currently plays for the Lakers.
Apparently, that former employee employee sent an e-mail to the HUD offices in Indy claiming that his company, TriStar, under the direction of Artest, was using his own bank accounts to pay Holmes-Ivey’s mounting bills.
The man has requested to stay anonymous.
If the allegations prove to be true, Holmes-Ivey would have used at least $34,000 in taxpayer money she was not entitled to.
