UPDATE: Fatu has died. See details here.
Former wrestler Edward Fatu (known as “Umaga”), 36, has been admitted to a hospital in Texas and is in life-threatening condition. Various reports indicate that he has been taken off of life support.
His family was asked to get to the hospital as quickly as possible. His family members believe he had a heart attack.
Details are hard to come by, but it looks like he fell asleep on Thursday night while watching TV and, hours later, his wife found him with blood flowing from his nose. He was taken to the hospital immediately.
Fatu wrestled under a number of names including Ekmo, Jamal and most notably Umaga. He had just returned from the Hulkamania in Australia.
He was released by WWE in June after failing a drug test and refusing the company’s wishes to send him to rehab.
