Vinny Cerrato is history.
The Washington Redskins executive vice-president of football operations resigned on Thursday morning, almost two years after becoming the organization’s de facto general manager.
Redskins fans are taking the news as an early Christmas present.
How did Cerrato keep his job status with an owner, Daniel Snyder, known for making sweeping personnel moves on a whim? Did Vinny “have something” on Snyder? Probably not.
Cerrato’s lackluster presence simply allowed Snyder to call the shots, while Cerrato could be the scapegoat.
Still, this could be a sign that things are headed in the right direction for the first time in years.
