UW got two Terrences on Friday: Terrence Jones and Terrence Ross, from Jefferson High in Oregon.

Jones is a 6′ 9″ forward and is also a McDonald’s All-American.  He’s pretty much thought of as a five-star recruit among the top 10 national prospects out there this season.

He came to Jefferson High School gym in Portland wearing a black suit and a pair of shiny earrings.

He got choked up initially, before his announcement. He took a moment to thank those who have helped him throughout his high school career. He also thanked various coaches that had helped him along the way from Kansas, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, UW and Kentucky.

“I guess now I’ll be picking one,” he then said.

According to him, no one knew because he hadn’t decided until that moment.

He stated that he wanted to go to an already-established school that was close to home and he wished to play with Jefferson teammate Terrence Ross.

Earlier in the day, 6′ 5″ guard Terrence Ross revealed that he had also selected UW. He arrived donning a UW cap and sweatshirt. He was all-Oregon player of the year two seasons ago.
