Tragedy at the University of Virginia. Yeardley Love, a female lacrosse player for UVA, was found murdered today. A male UVA lacrosse player, George Huguely, has been charged with first degree murder in the shocking death.
Officials haven’t yet released any information as to the cause of death, but they did reveal that Love’s body exhibited signs of trauma. Sources indicate that Love and Huguely were involved in a personal relationship.
Huguely, 22 is now being held at the Charlottesville/Albemarle jail. He was a midfielder for the UVA lacrosse team and had four goals and three assists so far this season.
Yeardley Love was a defender on the ladies’ team.
Both the mens and womens lacrosse teams at UVA are expected to participate in a national tournament later in May.
