The Blazers have sent small forward Martell Webster to the Timberwolves in exchange for Minnesota’s number 16 pick, Nevada forward Luke Babbitt, and forward Ryan Gomes. This could represent Kevin Pritchard‘s final trade as the General Manager of the Blazers as word is circulating that Pritchard has been fired and will be leaving the team after the draft.
Webster has a $10 million deal over the course of the next two years and has a partially guaranteed contract in 2012-13. He is now Minnesota’s best shooter, next to Wesley Johnson, who was the Timberwolves’ number 4 pick overall.
Babbitt now slides in behind Nicolas Batum in Portland. As for Gomes, he has only $1 million in salary guaranteed for 2010-11 if he’s waived over the course of the summer.
