Jack Roush, a NASCAR team owner, is in serious but stable condition after walking away from a plane crash in Wisconsin on Tuesday.
Roush Fenway Racing president Geoff Smith says Roush may need surgery, but he and his passenger were able to walk out of the plane.
Roush had bee flying his own plane and was attending the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture inĀ Wisconsin this week.
Officials state that Beechcraft Premier business jet registered to Roush Fenway Racing, LLC was involved in a landing incident at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh in which the plane was “destroyed.”
The accident happened at around 6:15 p.m. CDT, according to the official statement.
Roush and his friend, Brenda Strickland, were on board the plane when it crashed.
“Each exited the aircraft following the accident,” the statement said. “Both were transported to local hospitals, with Roush in serious but stable condition and Strickland with non-life threatening injuries. The NTSB is leading the investigation into the accident.”
Roush was landing his plane when the accident occurred.
