Reports indicate that 22 people were treated for injuries when a car drove into a group of pedestrians following the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway.
It seems 2005 Chevrolet SSR convertible that was in the handicapped parking area near Turn 2 tried to pass a Jeep after the event and somehow wound up slamming into a group of pedestrians.
Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor. The driver, a 65-year-old Fairfax man, was interviewed by police at the scene and taken into custody.
Hoping everyone is ok who were involved in the incident after the race today. 🙏🏻
