Colts punter Pat McAfee to Antonio Brown: ‘Don’t cleat me in the face’

antonio-brown-cleats-faceIt was a memorable moment in NFL history.

On September 7, 2014, Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers kicked Cleveland Browns ex-punter Spencer Lanning in the face with his cleats during a kick return.

Punters have been avoiding the Steelers wideout ever since.

On Tuesday, Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee tweeted to Brown asking for mercy as the two teams square off on Thanksgiving day.

Hey @AntonioBrown.. it’s gonna be Thanksgiving.. my mom’s gonna be there.. once again, none of this.. please.. thanks in advance

Brown seemed to take it in stride, advising that McAfee should just kick the ball out of bounds.

Maybe McAfee should just sit this one out.

Missed extra point kicks set record on Sunday [VIDEO]

extra-point-field-goal-kickIt was an odd Sunday around the NFL when it came to kicking extra points.

Usually a “no-brainer” kind of play, there were 12 missed extra point kicks around the league.

Week 11 of the 2016 NFL season became #KickerFail Sunday.

The misses, via USA Today Sports/MSN:

Cincinnati Bengals kicker Mike Nugent and Robbie Gould of the New York Giants each had two misses. The other whiffs came from Kai Forbath (Minnesota Vikings), Matt Prater (Detroit Lions), Connor Barth (Chicago Bears), Jason Myers (Jacksonville Jaguars), Cody Parkey (Cleveland Browns), Stephen Gostkowski (New England Patriots) and Steven Hauschka (Seattle Seahawks).

In Week 10, there were a season-high six missed extra-points.

An National Football League rule change moved extra-point kicks back to the 15-yard line this year.

Johnny Manziel reaches tentative deal to drop domestic violence charges

johnny-manzielJohnny Manziel probably won’t be reappearing in the NFL any time soon, but his legal woes may be subsiding for the time being.

Shutdown Corner reports that Manziel has reached a tentative deal with prosecutors to drop his domestic violence charges.

Those charges stem from an alleged altercation with his ex-girlfriend, according to the Associated Press.

Manziel was slapped with a misdemeanor assault charge and was looking at up to one year in prison and a $4,000 fine for the incident, which took place.

The troubled quarterback had been accused of dragging his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, into a vehicle against her will.

The judge has set a hearing for December 1, when the case could be officially settled.

Manziel hasn’t played in the NFL since late last season with the Cleveland Browns.

Browns fan wants Cleveland to hold 0-16 parade

Browns Fan Paper BagGoing 0-16 in the NFL is not an easy task, but it’s clear that the 2016 Cleveland Browns are going to give it their best shot.

They are already more than halfway there with Thursday night’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens putting them at 0-10 thus far.

One Cleveland fan thinks the city should embrace its football mediocrity, having filed an official application with the city to hold a “perfect season” 0-16 parade in January, should the team lose the rest of its games.

Twitter user Reflog_18 claims he’s filed the necessary paperwork.

In this era of “participation trophies,” is this really a good idea?

Only one other NFL team, the 2008 Detroit Lions, has managed to compile an 0-16 record.
